PSI Seminars Alumni Rock the National Spotlight

Two PSI Seminars graduates are currently in the national spotlight in recognition of their creative talents.
Singer-songwriter Kevin Colis was chosen out of thousands of entries to be one of the 12 YouTube finalists as part of the America’s Got Talent competition. Kevin breezed through the YouTube special with his rendition of Bruno Mars “The Lazy Song” for a spot in the semifinals:

Kevin will be performing in the semifinals live on Tuesday, August 23. For more information, or to voice your support, or hear more of Kevin’s music, you can visit Kevin on MySpace, one of his various Facebook pages (personal / AGT official / AGT semifinals event page), or Twitter. Most importantly, if you like what you hear and see, be sure to pick up the phone and vote Tuesday night!
UPDATE 8/25/2011: Kevin gave a great performance, but amid stiff competition, he didn’t make it into the top 10. He did, however, gain some well-deserved national exposure, attract thousands of new fans, and open up a future of opportunity. He also remained gracious and humble throughout the experience. From his Facebook page:

Not only did I have an experience of a lifetime, but I gained the most amazing new fans any artist could hope for! thanks for the posts!

Also receiving some well-deserved national attention is rocker Franki Doll. She and her band, The Broken Toys, are currently one of the top contenders in the Rockstar / Best Buy Battle of the Bands. The national winners will go on the Uproar Festival tour, and the local winners will get to open for the band Avenged Sevenfold for the festival in their area. Franki Doll & The Broken Toys are currently in 2nd place overall and 1st place in their region. The fan voting for their area (southern California) ends September 24, and they would really appreciate your votes. It’s free to join and you can vote daily at http://battle.rockstaruproar.com/u/frankidollandthebrokentoy.
Franki might not be what you typically picture as a personal development seminar-goer. She’s also not exactly your typical punk rocker. Check out her interview with Eric Blair in which she talks about hard times in her life and how she got through them, plus the story behind her band name. A lot of the concepts should sound very familiar to PSI alumni.

In addition to the Battle of the Bands, you can hear more of Franki Doll & The Broken Toys on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
Kevin and Franki are following their dreams. And since we are all truly one, their success is your success. Be sure to take a minute to show them your support, and to be inspired by them to pursue your own dream, no matter how far off it may seem.
